Oh, yes! Mariska; I saw the photos you posted on Dakota's arrival at LAX and her being greeted by her father. Could you tell me when these pictures were taken? Also: This is the first time I've ever seen her father shown... and I STILL have no idea what he looks like! Steve Fanning is still something of an enigma, since he apparently plays no active role in his daughters' careers. Lots of Dakota fans and watchers are curious about this guy! P.S. Steve Fanning's known to be six feet tall. Dakota must still be far short of five feet!

Dear Mariska: Naturally, I don't want to cause any discord on your site. It's just that my idea of a "challenging" role for a child (or for an actress of ANY age) does not include the kind of heartrending and exploitative scenes described in the screenplay of this terribly disturbing motion picture. It's because I DO care for Dakota and for all children, actors or not, that I take the stand that I do. Please understand that. Best wishes.

Hello, Pia! I just meant that we shouldn't forget that Dakota's still a child and has a lot of growing up yet to do. The publicists will tell you that a child actor's "mature for his/her years". They always do. Just don't take it too seriously. It's important that adults never forget that while children can learn or be taught to imitate maturity (especially when they ARE actors!), they're not in reality. They still need the guidance of good, loving and responsible parents.

Steve, I disagree but I don't want to argue or anything. So because she took the role doesn't mean her parents failed. I think that's not fair and you can't say such things before you haven't even seen the movie yet!I'll support Dakota with everything she does and will do in the future, even she wants to take more challenging roles.

Dear Mariska: With all due respect, I don't think you should be so quick to accept all this "12 going on 40" hype from Cindy Osbrink. There are biological realities to be faced. No matter how smart this child may or may not be, she's still a child. No child has the experience or maturity to evaluate such things as performing sex scenes with adult actors! That's why children have parents. To protect them. Dakota's parents have obviously failed her here to an horrendous degree.
